Counselling & Psychotherapy for Adults and Teens
A place to slow down and be curious…
Life may have asked a lot of you, and you've found ways to adapt, keep going, and make your way through. Those ways of coping have helped you get this far. And yet, you may still feel disconnected from yourself, wish for something more in your relationships, or feel tired of carrying things in the same way.
I see therapy as a creative and collaborative process—a place to slow down, become curious about what has shaped you, what you are experiencing now, and what might be possible. While therapy can ask us to sit with difficult things, it can also be surprising, expansive, and even joyful. I believe we each carry an innate capacity for healing, growth, and connection.
I support adults and teens in healing from hard things and finding their way back to what matters to them.
I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor (#25538) and hold a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology. My background in Comparative Religion and Peace & Conflict Studies reflects my longstanding curiosity about how we make meaning of our lives, as well as a deep commitment to social justice. My 20 years of teaching yoga have shaped my appreciation for the ways our experiences live in both body and mind. Together with my training in Counselling Psychology, Narrative Therapy, EMDR, parts work (TIST), and somatic attachment, these experiences continue to shape the way I practice.
What we might explore together…
-
Identity, Power, & Oppression
I bring a passion for social justice to exploring how culture, identity, power, and social systems may have shaped your relationships and the way you understand yourself. What stories and expectations have you inherited from your family, culture, and the wider world? Which might you want to question, resist, or reshape?
-
Trauma & Difficult Experiences
Difficult experiences can continue to shape how we feel, respond, and relate to ourselves and others, even long after they happened. Together, we can make sense of these experiences, process what remains unresolved, and explore new possibilities for how you want to move forward.
-
Anxiety, Depression, & Grief
We are living through a time of enormous complexity, and there is a lot to carry. Alongside the particular losses, uncertainties, and challenges you may be experiencing, we can make space for what feels heavy and explore what helps you reconnect with yourself and what matters to you.
-
Relationship Issues & Attachment
Earlier relationships can shape how we experience closeness, trust, boundaries, and our sense of worth. Sometimes old wounds surface in present relationships in ways that feel painful or confusing; exploring these patterns can open possibilities for greater security, choice, and compassion in how we relate to ourselves and others.
-
Life Transitions & Change
Change can bring uncertainty, doubt, and questions about who we are and what comes next. It can also create an opportunity to step back, reconnect with what matters to you, and explore what you want your next chapter to look like—with greater clarity and agency.
-
Self-worth, Shame, & Self-Criticism
The stories we carry about who we are can become so familiar that they begin to feel like facts: I'm not good enough. I'm too much. I should be doing better. We can gently attend to the parts of you that hold these beliefs, and explore what becomes possible when they are met with understanding and compassion.
Ways to work together…
-
Individual therapy
Our work can include conversation, embodied awareness, and art-based exercises. As an integrative therapist, I draw from Narrative Therapy, parts work, attachment, and somatic approaches, shaping our work collaboratively around your needs and goals.
-
EMDR & Trauma Processing
EMDR is an evidence-based approach to processing and integrating trauma, including the ways difficult experiences can continue to affect the nervous system, emotions, and relationships. We’ll work collaboratively and at a pace that supports safety, choice, and readiness.
-
For Adults & Teens
I love working with adults through all stages of life, including the transitions and possibilities that can emerge in midlife and beyond. I also enjoy working with teens and young adults as you figure out who you are, question what you've been told, and develop your own perspectives on relationships and the world around you.
-
Free 15-minute phone consultation
Choosing a therapist is personal, and finding someone you feel comfortable with matters. A free 15-minute conversation gives us a chance to connect, answer questions, and see whether I might be a good fit for you.
